After the re-totalling scam at Guru Ravidas Ayurvedic University, Hoshiarpur, the Association for Scientific Research in Homoeopathy has demanded the immediate shifting of homeopathic colleges affiliated to the university back to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.
Association president Dr Avtar Singh said it was shocking that such goof-up had come to light in the state's only homoeopathic university.
He said the university did not have its own building and had not been granted recognition either by the University Grants Commission or the Central Council of Indian System of Medicine or Central Council of Homoeopathy.
"The failure of university to get recognition means students passing out this year are not eligible to practise anywhere in the state," he said.
Meanwhile, association secretary Dr AS Maan said the decision of the state government to give affiliation to homoeopathic colleges under the homoeopathic university had turned a bane for the students registered with the colleges across the state.
"The homoeopathic university is playing with the lives of hundreds of students keeping them in the dark over the issue of its recognition," he said.
He said it had become the need of the hour to re-affiliate colleges under Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, for better and bright future of hundreds of students and to save homoeopathy science from the verge of extinction.
