Neighbours sensed foul smell from the house and informed the police on Thursday. When the police broke open the door, they found Ravinder hanging from a ceiling fan.

According to the police, the body was decomposed. It is being suspected that Ravinder hanged himself around four days ago. He was alone in the house, as his wife had gone to her maternal home with their children.

Jamalpur station house officer (SHO) inspector Sukhbir Singh said the police recovered a suicide note from the room in which Ravinder had blamed Dr Kalra and his accomplice Neeraj and Bablu for taking the extreme step.

Harvinder said his brother married Harpreet Kaur around nine years ago. Harpreet used to work in a beauty parlour being run by Dr Kalra near his clinic. He alleged that Harpreet had developed illicit relations with Dr Kalra and Ravinder was aware of it.

The Jamalpur police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against Kalra, Neeraj and Bablu following the complaint of Ravinder's brother Harvinder Singh.

The SHO said the police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused.
