Sukhdeep Singh, a resident of Udhay Nagar allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance on Sunday morning.
Police have registered a case under Sections 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC against Sukhdeep's wife Ria and mother-in-law Jyoti, on the statements of his brother Dhanpreet Singh of Gurmeet Nagar.

According to police, Dhanpreet alleged that his brother was depressed as Ria and Jyoti used to torture him mentally.
He said Sukhdeep had wed Ria seven months ago, who was a member of a local dance group. Police said both, Sukhdeep and his wife were residing on rent at Udhay Nagar for past few months. Both, Ria and her mother Jyoti were arrested by police.
