Husband kills wife over petty dispute

An argument over drinking of a husband, wife turned ugly in Sukhania village on Friday night with the man stranguatling his wife. The accused, Chandan Yadav, then reportedly thougth up of a plan that was seen through by the police.

The accused, Chandan Yadav, then reportedly thougth up of a plan that was seen through by the police. He threw his 24-year-old wife's body in the village fields and went to the police station on Saturday morning, claiming that she was raped and killed by unidentified assailaints.

However, the police found the claim to be shaky and was suspicious.
"Villagers told us that Chandan was a habitual drinker and used to fight with his wife (their's was a love marriage), when Sunita objected. On Friday night, there was aheated exchange of words over the issue. Drunk and in a fit of rage, Chandan strangulated Sunita using a piece of cloth," said police sources.

Earlier in the night, he thought that she had lost consciusness and went to sleep. When he woke up, he realised that he had murdered his wife. He then entacted the whole dram of throwing the body and reported to us with a concoted story."

Sadar SHO Sukha Singh said, "The accused did report to us in the morning. However, he vanished after he got wind of our suspicions."
