Reacting to the controversy over Punjab local bodies, tourism and cultural affairs minister Navjot Singh Sidhu’s participation in the Kapil Sharma Show, Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday said he personally had no objection to Sidhu’s continuing with television shows if it was constitutionally permissible.

Saying that he was personally not aware of the constitutional position in this regard, Amarinder said he would wait for the Punjab advocate general’s advice on the issue.
Amarinder was answering to queries of mediapersons outside Parliament House after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Sidhu is a sensible and intelligent person and would have checked out his legal and Constitution position in the matter of working for TV shows after joining his cabinet as a minister. But if Sidhu’s culture portfolio was found to be in conflict with his television work then the same could be changed,” Amarinder said.
