Former chief minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Prem Kumar Dhumal and 25 members of his family, including the party's Hamirpur candidate and sitting MP Thakur, cast their votes at Samirpur polling station in this district on Wednesday.
Earlier, they offered prayers to their clan deity Maa Awahdevi and sought her blessings for Anurag and BJP's victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing mediapersons here, Dhumal and Anurag claimed the increasing trend of voting was “an indication of change of guard at New Delhi”. “People are fed up with the misrule of the Congress, so they came out in large numbers all over India to exercise their right of franchise,” they claimed.
Dhumal said 100% polling should be made compulsory in the country.
He said a pro-BJP wave was sweeping across the nation and the rout of Congress and its allies was imminent, adding that in Himachal, people were all set to oust the Congress and had voted for change.
