Industrialists inform mayor about civic issues

A delegation of industrialists on Saturday called upon municipal corporation mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria and apprised him of difficulties being faced by the people during traffic congestions on the GT Road and other civic issues.

A delegation of industrialists on Saturday called upon municipal corporation mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria and apprised him of difficulties being faced by the people during traffic congestions on the GT Road and other civic issues.

The delegation comprised of Onkar Singh Pahwa, chairman and managing director, Avon cycles; Shiv Pashad Mittal chairman of Aarti Steel Limited and Gurmit Singh Kular president of United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association.

The delegation informed the mayor that the GT Road is considered a two-way service lane for speedy traffic but due to blockage of the same by the people to show their resentment, it road becomes a big problem for commuters and city being scattered one people have to waste their time and resources for reaching their destination.

“There are so many garbage dumps in city at various places such as Dholewal Chowk, Dugri Canal bridge and adjoining Vishivkarma Park which paint a bad picture of the city and become injurious for the health of residents” said the members of the delegation.
