Sudden inspection at the railway general ticket booking counter on Monday exposed irregularities.

While checking the general booking counters, Davinder Singh, travelling inspector, accounts, (TIA), found that as compared to the tickets sold, money on the counter was short of Rs 500. Thereafter, a report in this regard was sent to the railway headquarters.

However, station superintendent RK Sharma was not available for the comment.

Delay in trains irks passengers

The delay in trains up to 8 hours irked the passengers of Himgiri Express. Many trains were delayed due to derailment problem on Saturday. Himgiri Express reached eight hours late to the Ludhiana railway station and thus passengers waiting for the train were harried lot. Amritsar-New Delhi Superfast also got delayed by six hours. The train was scheduled to arrive at the city railway station by 8.30 am but arrived at 2.30 pm.

Anoop Mishra, a passenger, who was waiting for Amritsar-New Delhi Superfast , said delay caused a lot of inconvience to passengers. In six hours one could reach to New Delhi via road also. Dadar Express also got delayed by 1.30 hours, he said.
