Irate students hold protest march, to observe hunger strike from March 4

Members of the Punjab Students Union(PSU) and the Democratic Students Organisation (DSO) on Sunday held a protest march to condemn the move of the Punjab government to use the Punjabi University land for the construction of a residential model school.

Members of the Punjab Students Union(PSU) and the Democratic Students Organisation (DSO) on Sunday held a protest march to condemn the move of the Punjab government to use the Punjabi University land for the construction of a residential model school.

The students announced that they would start a hunger strike in front of the vice chancellor's office from March 4 onwards.

The students alleged that university was already having scarcity of land and most of students were being forced to stay outside because of lack of hostel.Thus, the move is against the university and students' interests.

Carrying the placards mentioning "Return the land to Punjabi University" and "Maluka go back", the students held a massive protest.
Students led by Satwant Singh, Amarjit Singh, Amandeep Singh, Gurmeet Kaur and others also raised the slogans during the foundation-stone laying ceremony.
