Punjab revenue and information and public relations minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Monday said the return of Jagmeet Singh Brar to the Congress fold was a non-issue for the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).

“Brar has resurfaced after a year-long leave. The Congress party is already on the ventilator in an ICU, and Brar’s inclusion to the party will not have any effect on the political scene of Punjab,” he said, while addressing public gatherings in Talwandi Khumman, Mugosohi, Rangeelpura, Thariewal, Marri Khurd and Dyalgarh villages of the Majitha assembly segment on Monday.

He laid foundation stones of several development projects in these villages.

While commenting on Brar’s “illogical” comments on the Badals and the SAD, Majithia said it was rather funny that people like Brar were talking of ‘Inqlaab’ (revolution).

He pointed out that it was Brar who had raised questions over the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

“I wonder what forced the Congress to re-induct him into the party,” he quipped.

He praised chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal for their leadership and for putting the state on the road to progress and development.
