Journalists mourn HT scribe's death

The journalist fraternity has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Jasdeep Singh Malhotra, Jalandhar-based principal correspondent of Hindustan Times, in a road accident on Sunday in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.

The journalist fraternity has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Jasdeep Singh Malhotra, Jalandhar-based principal correspondent of Hindustan Times, in a road accident on Sunday in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.

In a statement issued in Rupnagar on Monday, local press club president Bahadurjeet Singh remembered Malhotra as flag-bearer of fair and fearless journalism, whose untimely and tragic death had shocked the media fraternity. He expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

In Hoshiarpur, members of the town's press club gathering in mourning on Monday. Club president Parminder Singh Bariana recalled Malhotra as a daring and honest journalist committed to his profession. The members observed two minutes of silence in Malhotra's memory.
