Himachal Pradesh health minister Kaul Singh Thakur was admitted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, on Friday after he suffered a heart problem.

Thakur underwent angioplasty at the PGI on Saturday. Thakur, 69, is eight-time MLA from Drang assembly segment in Mandi district.

Thakur was reportedly under pressure after the CD incident, though he delinked himself from the episode. However, the spat between him and chief minister Virbhadra Singh continued. He has also accused one of the CM's close confident of leaking the CD.

Thakur condition is stable and doctors have advised him to remain in hospital for some more days.

Chief minister Virbhadra Singh, who was in Nahan on Saturday, visited the PGI to enquire about the well-being of Kaul Singh. The CM wished Thakur a speedy recovery. Transport Minister GS Bali was also accompanying the CM.
