Still looking for clues to crack the blind double murder of senior journalist KJ Singh, 63, and his mother Gurcharan Kaur, 92, Punjab Police have reached out to all the neighbouring states.
The department has shared the information about KJ Singh’s missing car with their counterparts in Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The green Ford Ikon (PB 65 0164) has been missing since the double murder came to light on September 23.

The closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage has revealed that the car passed through the Phase 3B2/ 7 light point before moving to Balongi around midnight.
“All station house officers and other officials across Punjab have been asked to share details if the car is found abandoned in any area,” said inspector general (IG, crime) Shashi Prabha, who heads the special investigation team (SIT) formed by the Punjab government. “We have also written a letter to all the neighbouring states, giving the description of the (missing) car. They have been told to respond if they find it anywhere.”
The IG said that after questioning all relatives and close associates of the deceased, police have started going through the call dump from the area for the past month. Meanwhile, the senior cop maintained that the double murder was an “insider’s job”.

{{/usCountry}}“KJ opened the door of his drawing room for only close relatives and family members,” said the IG. “Also, he would meet his friends and other people known to him in his study, which had another entry.”
KJ Singh and his bedridden mother were found murdered at their Phase 3B2 house on the afternoon of September 23. KJ was stabbed at least 15 times while his mother was strangulated. The double murder had taken place the previous night, confirmed the postmortem report.
