Labourer dies after taking medicine, family holds protest

Death of a labourer under mysterious conditions on Monday afternoon sparked a protest against the doctor in Old City Area, as victim's kin and coworker alleged that he died after taking medicine from the doctor.

Death of a labourer under mysterious conditions on Monday afternoon sparked a protest against the doctor in Old City Area, as victim's kin and coworker alleged that he died after taking medicine from the doctor. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Jai Chand Yadav, a resident of Sunder Nagar.

The victim had gone to take medicine from a doctor at Meena Nagar complaining pain in chest. After taking medicine his health started sinking and he was rushed to Dr BL Kapoor Memorial Hospital, where he breathed his last.

Following his death, the victim's relatives staged a protest against the doctor demanding strict action against him. The Division Number 1 police reached the spot and pacified the protesters. Division Number 1 SHO Dharampal said, "The police will take appropriate action after recording the statement of kin of the deceased.
