Life-imprisonment for murdering a boy

Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Jandoli village was awarded life-imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Monday, for murdering a 10-year old boy Balkar Chand of the same village.

Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Jandoli village was awarded life-imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Monday, for murdering a 10-year old boy Balkar Chand of the same village. Rs 45,000 would be given to the aggrieved family as compensation.

On April 18, when Balkar and his father were fetching fodder from the fields, Jaswinder chopped off Balkar with a sharp-edged weapon and fled. He was later arrested and booked under Section 302(punishment for murder) of IPC.
