Over 25 buses, which can be seen parked at the platforms meant for the private and government buses, are causing huge inconvenience for them.

According to the private and government bus operators, as per the rules of the bus terminal management committee, no buses or heavy vehicles except the public vehicles or those authorised are allowed to be parked here.

The operators have voiced their concern over the illegal activity going unchecked for months now and demanded a punitive action against the offenders.

A members of a bus operator union, Gurmeet Singh said, “There is a shortage of parking space at the bus stand premises and with no check on such an illegal activity, things are getting worsened as several buses of private colleges and schools are parked here. Bus stand management committee members need to deal with the issue stringently.”

Surinder Singh Pannu, manager, operations and maintenance, Welspun Projects Limited, said, “Usually there is a lack of space at the parking area for the visitors so we have to allow some of the buses to be parked at the idle parking areas inside the bus stand premises. If it is causing inconvenience to anyone, we will get these removed from there.”
