Union minister of state skill development and entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy said two international multi skill development centres will soon be established in Ludhiana city. The minister, who was accompanied by Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, said this at the inaugural ceremony of a multi skill development centre at Gill Road here on Sunday.

“Nearly 1,000 skill development centres will also be opened in the rural belt of Punjab in the next 2 years,” Rudy said.

The Union minister also assured help to the state government for setting up the two — International Skill Development Centre and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Kendra — centres in Ludhiana.

“The youths trained in such centres will not require any other certification to get jobs in India or abroad,” Rudy added.

Meanwhile, the deputy chief minister said five multi skill development centres and 200 rural skill development centres were made operational in the state on Sunday.

“The state government will open a skill development centre for every 10 villages. Not only this, a proposal for establishing a skill university in the state will also be given a go ahead in the cabinet meeting scheduled on November 15,” Sukhbir said.
