Ludhiana woman suffers miscarriage after thrashing from husband

In a shocking incident, a woman suffered a miscarriage when her husband along with her in-laws allegedly thrashed her at their home. The woman was immediately rushed to the hospital after the thrashing where doctors told that the pregnancy of 24-year-old woman was terminated.

The woman, Mansi, a resident of Durgapuri, has complained to the police that on August 29, her husband, Arun Kumar, along with his father and mother thrashed her.

In her complaint, she told the police that on August 29, she went to a hospital along with her husband where doctors told her that she was pregnant. As soon as they reached back home, the woman was beaten brutally with kicks and punches that caused miscarriage. The police have registered a case against the husband.

According to sources, Mansi has also accused her in laws of demanding dowry from her parents that became the cause of thrashing. However, the police have not booked the in-laws in absence of evidence.

Mansi had married Arun two years back and sometime after their marriage, the relation had turned sour which resulted in fights between the couple time and again. The police have registered a case under section 312 (causing miscarriage) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
