A major cycle expo will be held in the city from April 3 to 5, in which bicycle manufacturing companies from China and Taiwan are expected to participate. Indian giants, including Hero Cycle Limited and Avon Cycle are expected to launch variants of their bicycles during the show.
Bicycle and bicycle parts industry that has base in Ludhiana is waiting for the annual event that started five years ago. The event witnesses attendance of a large number of dealers from across the country. However, presence of Chinese and Taiwanese companies with high-end technology would be interesting to witness.
The show would be organised by the United Cycle and Parts Manufacturer Association (UCPMA) that has already sent the invitation to cycle companies to install their stalls at the show that would be held at Government College for Girls.
Organisers say that during the cycle expo last year, rain had spoilt the prospects of business and the business was done below expectations last year. However, this year special arrangements would be made.
UCPMA president Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma said at least 60-70 bicycle companies would participate in it. International brands from China and Taiwan were also expected to take part in the show that would take the show to an international level, he added.
