Additional district and sessions judge Neelam Arora awarded 10 years' imprisonment to Sarwan Singh of Kanan village near Rahon town on Tuesday.
The court also imposed a fine of rs 1 lakh on him and, in case, he failed to pay the fine, he would have to undergo one more year into prison. He was arrested on August 18, 2012 by the Rahon police after a police team seized 60 kg poppy husk from a Tata 1109 vehicle during a special checking.
