Man, son booked for producing adulterated engine oil

The Malerkotla police have booked a city- based dealer and his son for illegally producing adulterated engine oil. During a surprise raid on Tuesday, the police unearthed their godown in the city and seized about 2,000 liters of the adulterated engine oil.

The accused have been identified as Bhushan Kumar Singla and his son Manoj Kumar, residents of Malerkotla.

Talking to the Hindustan Times, Malerkotla DSP William Jeji said that the raid was conducted on a tip-off.

He said that the investigation revealed that they used to purchase used oil form the dealers and produce adulterated engine oil by mixing chemicals.

According to Sandaur police station in-charge, the case has been registered in the Sandaur police station under sections 420, 486, 487, 488 of the IPC. After the arrest, they have been sent in the police custody. He said that they used to sell this oil under the name of ZIP BAJAJ company. The police have also seized stickers and packing material from the godown.
