Man, son hack two brothers over petty issue, one dies

A man, along with his two sons and their four accomplices, hacked two brothers with sharp-edged weapons in Ramgarh Bhullar village late on Sunday evening.

A man, along with his two sons and their four accomplices, hacked two brothers with sharp-edged weapons in Ramgarh Bhullar village late on Sunday evening. One of the victims died on the spot, while another suffered severe injuries and has been admitted to hospital.

The victim reprimanded the accused over electricity theft from their connection. The accused fled the spot. The Sadar police station of Jagraon has registered a case of murder and attempt to murder against seven accused including Karnail Singh, his two sons Manna Singh, Dhanna Singh and their four unidentified accomplices and launched a search for their arrest.

The deceased has been identified as Hardeep Singh (35), while his brother Gurmeet Singh alias Lala (32) has been admitted to Civil Hospital Jagraon.

In his complaint, Naib Singh, uncle of the victim, stated that the accused Karnail Singh and his two sons Manna Singh and Dhanna Singh used to pilfer electricity from their connection. They had, several times, asked the accused not to do it, but to no avail.

After this, the accused and their accomplices chased his nephews and hacked them with sharp-edged weapons. Hardeep Singh died at the spot, while Gurmeet Singh suffered severe injuries.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Harinder Singh Parmar said the police were looking for the accused.
