Manali experiences snowfall, temp dips considerably

Intense cold prevailed in Manali region and other parts of Kullu valley as the tourist town experienced fresh snowfall on Wednesday, partially disrupting normal life.

Intense cold prevailed in Manali region and other parts of Kullu valley as the tourist town experienced fresh snowfall on Wednesday, partially disrupting normal life.

According to reports received here, the Rohtang Pass- the gateway to Lahaul and Spiti, and Ladakh region experienced one feet of snow, while Marhi and the ski-slopes of Solang Nallah experienced six inches of snow. Besides, Kanyal hills,Mangan Kot, Beas Kund and Friendship Peak also experienced fresh snowfall resulting in a considerable decline in the temperature.

Local orchardists were upbeat as they feel the snowfall would be of great help for the apple crop and other fruits, particularly in the upper areas of the Valley.
