“I feel neither the Congress nor the SAD-BJP are capable of doing anything good for the people,” said Manpreet, who was here to get post-poll feedback from party candidates and workers of the district.

“The PPP will surely play the role of kingmaker. While deciding on the support, we will keep in mind not only the interests of the PPP but also of the state,” he told Hindustan Times.

About his pre-poll stand that the PPP would prefer a re-poll rather than extending support to any party, Manpreet said his party would offer conditional support, and that too for the sake of Punjab’s welfare.

During his speech, Manpreet said the SAD-BJP government would not retain power. “The PPP will get a vote share of 15 to 18%. How many seats we will win is anybody’s guess,” he added.

Party candidates present on the occasion included Dr Navjot Dahiya, Baba Rajinder Singh Johal, Satpal, Raj Kumar Raju, Gurmeet Singh Nadala, Narinder Shergil, Kuldeep Cheema and Kamaljit Singh Kakra.
