The district administration distributed a compensation of 36.50 lakh to the Maur blasts victims on Saturday.

The move comes a day before the victims’ families had threatened to protest against the delay in disbursal of the relief amount.

Deputy commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said kin of the six deceased — Ashok Kumar, Barkha Rani, Harpal Palli, Saurab Singla, Ripandeep Singh and Japsimran Singh — have been given 5 lakh each.

The injured have been given 50,000 each, he added.

Thori said following the directions of the Election Commission, Maur sub-divisional magistrate Latif Ahmed distributed the relief money in the presence of government officials.

“No political leader was involved in distribution of the relief money ,” he said.
