The Ludhiana municipal corporation on Tuesday cancelled demolition drive at Barewal area due to unknown reasons. The MC had reportedly planned a drive at Barewal area where residential units that have cropped up on the government land were to be demolished by the MC officials of building and tehbazari wing.

At least 400 policemen accompanied with MC officials waited at police lines for the go-ahead, but the drive was called off.
It has been learnt that a drive will be held in the same area on Wednesday.
