The drive started from in front of Park Plaza hotel. Police also took action against illegal parked vehicles on GT road.

HT in the past had highlighted that Park Plaza hotel was using the service lane in front of its premises as parking, which was causing disruption in smooth flow of traffic in the area.

The hotel is located on Ferozepur Road that connects most of the areas of Ludhiana with each other.

As part of the drive, MC and traffic police lifted vehicles, including cars and two-wheelers, parked illegally in front of shops and restaurants in the area.

Assistant commissioner of police (ACP) traffic Dhruman Nimbale said action was taken against the illegally parked vehicles in the service lane in front of the hotel, as numerous notices issued to the hotel in the past failed to deter them.

Nimble said a case was registered against the vehicles that were illegally parked under Section 283 (disrupting flow of traffic).

The ACP said the drive would continue in future so that people refrained from parking vehicles in these lanes.
