Ludhiana Municipal Corporation Citizens' Reporting and Mapping Tool (LMC CRAMAT), a smart phone application for android users through which residents can register complaints by sending photographs, is once again crying for officials' attention as it has not been updated for the past two months.
Instead of sending complaints to current assistant town planner (ATP) Monika Anand, residents were sending their complaints to former ATP Rajinder Sharma, who was transferred two months ago.
“I had sent a complaint about an encroachment in Model Town Extension to CRAMAT on July 18, but received reply on July 25,” Kuldeep Singh Khaira, an RTI activist, said.
“It was more shocking for me when I got to know that my complaint was being forwarded to Rajinder Sharma, who is a former assistant town planner,” he said.
According to sources, CRAMAT was launched in 2013 and it got a good response from the residents.
However, sources claimed that the authorities concerned were not paying much attention to this application through which residents could easily register complaints about streetlights, water supply, sewerage, roads, sanitation, encroachments, horticulture, unauthorised construction, city bus service and illegal advertisements and hoardings.
When contacted, SP Singh, superintending engineer of technical wing of MC, said: “I will look into the matter and required steps will be taken at the earliest.”
