The parks that would be developed include Rakh Bagh, Leisure Valley, Rose garden, Mini Rose garden, Atam Park and others where footfall of the visitors is high.

It is also pertinent to mention here that residents have also demanded to remove encroachments from various parks and green belts across the city.

MC additional commissioner Ghashyam Thori said, “We have planned to spend `10 crore on major parks of the city. We have recently conducted a meeting with the officials of different wings, including lights, horticulture, operation and maintenance, and others.”

“We will prepare the detailed project report as per requirement of these parks. Lists of the non-functioning fountains, lights and other items will be made for repair work,” he added.

HT had several times highlighted the bad condition of city parks. After joining the office, MC commissioner GK Singh had announced to improve the condition of parks.
