MC 's finance panel clears 127 proposals worth Rs 60 crore

The finance and contract committee of the municipal corporation on Friday approved 127 proposals out of 128, during a meeting held at Mayor House.

The finance and contract committee of the municipal corporation on Friday approved 127 proposals out of 128, during a meeting held at Mayor House.

The developmental project proposals are worth more than Rs 60 crore.

MC secretary Hartej Singh confirmed the development, but said the total estimate of the approved projects was yet to be finalised.
"Most of the proposals are of new construction of roads. Some are of upgrading the sewerage," he said.

The sole proposal rejected by the panel pertained to construction of a boundary wall around the Jamalpur area garbage dump.

MC commissioner GK Singh Dhaliwal said the 127 proposals were approved with the aim of development in the city.
