MCPI (U) condemns misuse of govt machinery in panchayat polls

The state committee of Marxist Communist Party of India (United), (MCPI (U)) organised a meeting at KK Kaushal Memorial Bhavan, Doraha on Monday condemning the use of drugs on large scale and other corrupt means in panchayat election to lure voters.

As per statement issued by the newly elected secretary of the state committee Pawan Kumar Kaushal, Comrade Lakhwinder Singh Bowani presided over the meeting, in which state committee members from Patiala, Sangrur, Mohali, Ropar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur and Chandigarh participated.

The members also condemned USA's activities of surveillance on other countries through its National Security Agency.

Earlier, tributes were paid to the departed veteran communist leaders Comrade Jagjit Singh Lyallpuri and Comrade Satpal Dang and to those killed in the natural disaster/tragedies by keeping a two-minute silence.

Notably, after the demise of Lyallpuri, who was All India General Secretary of MCPI (U), the central committee gave the responsibility of All India General Secretary to Kuldip Singh, the present punjab state committee secretry and polit bureau member.In place of Kuldip Singh, the state committee has given the responsibility of secretary, Punjab, to Pawan Kumar Kaushal.
