The protesting Kisan Morcha workers blocked rail traffic at Sunam and managed to delay the Ludhiana-Hisar passenger train before the Dhuri station. When contacted, Dhuri railway station munshi said that no train was blocked between 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Dhuri. But the Hisar-Ludhiana passenger train was already late by one hour and reached the Dhuri station at 12:30. The blockade was cleared at Sunam until the train reached Sunam, he added.

On the other hand BJP's Sangrur district general secretary Shankar Singh claimed that the rail roko call of the Kisan Morcha got good response in the district as the rail traffic was affected. Kisan Morcha activists sitting on the railway track in Sunam cleared the rail lines after the protest hours from 11:30 am to 1:30pm, he said adding that during the protest no train reached at Sunam station.
