The seminar was organised in association with the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR). "Desires are rational. If desires are not rational then the knowledge has the capacity to control irrational desires. Hence, we celebrated this day as knowledge day to remember Socrates," said Dr Kumar.

Dr Kumar explained how to embrace morality in one's life. "Whenever there is confusion, decision should be made on the basis of relevance of thought. The motivation comes from the inquisitiveness and we should never snub inquisitiveness inside us. We should give it a space to flourish," said Dr Kumar. He said knowledge itself motivates us to do good deeds.

Head of the philosophy department Dr Gurjit Mann explained the importance of the day and said that Socrates' philosophy is most relevant during these times.
