At least five persons were injured in the clash which allegedly involved firing of gunshots and the groups pelting each other with stones.

Onlookers informed the police who reached the spot and initiated investigation. The injured were taken to civil hospital from where they were discharged after first-aid.

The Daresi Police have booked the accused, Prince, his father Sushil Kumar alias Bittu, mother Sonia and eight other unidentified persons, following the complaint of Dr Amarjit Singh, one of the victims.

Police said Prince was playing loud music and bursting firecrackers with his friends in the colony on Diwali. Meanwhile, they started creating ruckus in the area, following which some locals, along with Dr Amarjit, objected to their antics.

Singh alleged that instead of taking note of their complaint, Prince, his kin and friends opened attack on him and a few other residents. When his sons, Manpreet Singh and Tajinder Singh, intervened, they were thrashed too, Singh alleged, adding that the attackers even opened fire in the air.
