The accused had raped an eight-year-old girl. According to district attorney NS Ghai, the accused, who was of Nepal origin, had been sexually abusing the victim for two years and was threatening to liquidate her if she reported the matter to her family members.

The victim ultimately reported the matter to a local NGO, which brought the matter to the knowledge of the police. The accused has also been ordered to pay Rs 7,000 as fine, which will be given to the victim. Ghai said the trial concluded within five months after deposing 21 witnesses.
