No arrests in minor suicide case

A day after the death of a 15-year-old girl, who was abducted and allegedly molested by two youths at Ghuman village, the police are yet to arrest any of the accused and have been awaiting the medical report to take action.

A day after the death of a 15-year-old girl, who was abducted and allegedly molested by two youths at Ghuman village, the police are yet to arrest any of the accused and have been awaiting the medical report to take action.

The girl from Ghuman village was reportedly abducted by the two youths while she was going to school. The accused allegedly took her to a secluded place and molested her.

After getting free from their clutches, the girl reached home and unable to bear the humiliation, allegedly committed suicide by taking poison.

Though the girl was not able to give a statement to the police before dying, the police are awaiting the medical report to ascertain rape.

Talking to HT, Ghuman police station SHO Sarabjeet Singh said Ravi Kumar, father of the deceased, in his complaint to the police, said his daughter was abducted by the accused, and that they registered a case of abduction and abetment to suicide against the two accused.

Upset over the death of his daughter, Ravi Kumar said, "I have given my complaint to the police and want justice."
