With temperatures plummeting, the students of phase 6 government school, SAS Nagar, are forced to sit on the floor due to the absence of benches.

Broken windows in classrooms adds to their woes in this chilly weather. Following complaints, sub-divisional magistrate Lakhmir Singh visited the school to take stock of the problems.

Councillor RP Singh said he has lodged a complaint with the administration multiple times, but to date no action is taken.

Singh said he will utilise ward fund to get the school repaired and provide other required infrastructure. SDM Lakhmir Singh summoned DEO Tota Singh and directed him to get the infrastructure in place.

Meanwhile, Tota Singh said he never received any complaint with regards to the poor infrastructure.

He said the school management should give a written complaint, following which he will take up the matter with the education minister.
