Although, the policy was issued on June 26, by the state government, but neither any of colonizers submitted application for the regularization of their colony nor any resident expressed his desire to pay the subscribed amount for regularization of his dwelling unit in the unapproved colonies.

“Some of the colonizers turned up, but only for the queries and no duly signed application with mandatory deposit so far submitted in the office”, one of the senior officials of Jalandhar Development Authority (JDA), told HT on the condition of anonymity.

“Perhaps the stake holders are confused and expecting some change in the policy, especially after ruling alliance partner, BJP's taking up the issue with Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal recently”, he said adding that moreover the last date of submitting the application is August 24, which is still far away.

Employees of the MC were seen throwing pamphlets regarding the policies in the residents in unapproved colonies.
