At present, the IIAS is open for visitors on all days of the week, except national holidays, said official spokesperson in a press statement here on Thursday. The decision to close the IIAS, housed in the century-old Viceregal Lodge once a week, has been taken to ensure the cleanliness of the heritage building.

“The state museum and the bird park will also remain closed on Mondays,” he said. Viceregal Lodge was built during the tenure of viceroy Lord Dufferin (1884-88) and is the mahor toruist attraction.
