Normalcy prevailed in Malerkotla with no protest

Normalcy prevailed on Thursday with no protest has been reported so far at Malerkotla in Sangrur district. People were seen purchasing their necessary house hold things, while many schools re-opened.

Normalcy prevailed on Thursday with no protest has been reported so far at Malerkotla in Sangrur district.

Earlier, tension and volatile conditions gripped for past three days as massive protest and sloganeering were reported following murder of 12-year-old Vidhu Jain, who was brutally burnt alive by unidentified persons on Monday.

Unlike complete shutdown in past three days, Thursday morning witnessed markets opened alike normal days.

People were seen purchasing their necessary house hold things, while many schools re-opened.

However, heavy security personnel were deployed across the town as precautionary measures to avoid any untoward incident.

The members of peace committee also held meeting on Thursday.

Indeed, Malerkotla MLA Neesara Khatoon and her husband former Director general of police and present chairman of Punjab Wakf board Mohammad Izhar Alam, though both failed to come out of their house in tension, attended peace meeting and addressed gatherings today.

Meanwhile, no arrest has been made so far.

Though police has been questioning several suspected persons but still whopping in dark as they failed to get any vital clue.
