HT had highlighted in its report 'No info on reserved seats in CM's dist, Cong cries foul' published on Saturday that the Muktsar administration did not have any information on the status of the reserved seats for the block samiti and zila parishad elections.

Hardev Arshi, senior leader of the CPI, said, "The same method is being adopted in Mansa district. I asked for the status of the reserved seats and the administration claimed that it had no information. It is a conspiracy by SAD to keep other parties away from the election. If the opposition parties do not know which seat is reserved till the last date, how would they declare the candidates, which run into thousands, for block samiti, zila parishad and panchayat election."

He alleged that bureaucrats had been working under pressure and were not keen on providing information.
