NRI dies under mysterious circumstances

A United States (US)-based non-resident Indian (NRI) Hakam Singh, 85, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his house at Dhaliwal Kadiyan village of the district. Singh had come to his village a month ago from the US. His two sons Inderjeet Singh and Malkeet Singh were also living in the US.

A United States (US)-based non-resident Indian (NRI) Hakam Singh, 85, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his house at Dhaliwal Kadiyan village of the district. Singh had come to his village a month ago from the US. His two sons Inderjeet Singh and Malkeet Singh were also living in the US.

The incident came to light when a labourer knocked at the gate of his house and got no response from the house. Suspecting foul play, the labourer called up other residents of the village and opened the gate.

When they forced opened the door, they found him dead and lying on a bed. The villagers then informed the police.

Relatives of Singh suspected that some unidentified persons had killed Hakam Singh, but the police ruled out the possibility of murder.

Meanwhile, finger print experts were called and started investigations in the incident.

The body of Hakam Singh was taken to a hospital for post-mortem examination and the police have yet to register a case in the incident.
