One booked for illegal sand mining

The Mehatpur police have charged Raj pal alias Raju a resident of Kang Saabu village on charges of illegal sand mining. SHO Manjit Singh said a case under Section 21 of the Punjab Mining Act and Section 379 of the Indian Panel Code has been registered against the accused and his tractor trolley has been impounded.

Block mining officer Haripal complained to the police that the accused violated the orders of the Punjab and Haryana high court and section of the Punjab Mining Act.
