It has been third such meeting on the issue after the Delhi gang rape and murder case. The meetings held by the district transport officer with bus operators over the issue have been separate.

On Saturday, ACP (traffic) Dhruman Nimbale convened a meeting between around 50 bus operators and officers of Punjab roadways and Punjab Road Transport Corporation (PRTC).

The ACP said the Punjab and Haryana high court issued orders about the tinted glasses of buses and the police had been bound to comply with the orders. The traffic wing of Ludhiana police already issued challans to more than 4,800 vehicles, including buses for bearing tinted glass in this year.

“If anyone failed to follow the orders issued by the high court, the police will take strict action against him,” said the ACP.
