His mother Rekha, while talking to HT, broke down and said, “He used to visit a cricket academy in Jalandhar. Last year in November, on his way back home, he met with an accident near Dhandari traffic light point and suffered major injuries on his head.

“He was in coma for a long time. His left side is completely paralysed but doctors have told us that it is curable. However, we do not have enough money to bear the treatment’s expenses. I want to see my son stand on his two legs,” said Rekha.

The family of the cricketer is very poor and struggles to even make both ends meet. She said, “The expenses for the complete treatment are expected to be around 6 lakh. We have sold almost every household article and our house is also on mortgage now. We do not even have a single penny now to pay for the treatment of my son. Sameer’s friends aided a lot for his recovery but for the complete treatment, still we have to spend in lakhs.”

Contact victim’s family on: 9780162122, to provide financial aid.
