Increasing beggar menace in the city has become a cause of concern for the local residents as despite tall claims made by the district administration to curb beggars on the busy roads, they seem to have failed to curb this problem.
Because the increase in there number not only has posed an inconvenience to the commuters by pestering for money at traffic lights but petty crimes like snatching, thefts from the vehicles have also risen.
Residents from majority areas have taken up the matter with the police authorities, but nothing has been done yet. Even the shopkeepers of the city have informed the police about stealing of goods from the shops. The beggars are not only causing inconvenience, but they have formed localities in isolated areas and are adding to the already existing woes. They have affected the cleanliness of the areas by littering garbage around.
Now, they have also started causing road accidents as they suddenly appear in way of the cars. Balmiki, Kali Mata Mandir Road and Shahpur Chowk are affected with this problem.
