Additional Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) Jograj Jaryal said that Ajay Kumar, resident of Mahant panchayat, in his complaint submitted at the north zone police station of the bureau, said that his father's name was wrongly mentioned as Rakesh Kumar in revenue records for the correction of which he had filed an application.

“Ajay Kumar had submitted an application regarding correction of name of his father at the local tehsil office on August 12 last year,” said Jaryal adding that the tehsil officials had forwarded the case to the patwari.

The patwari allegedly demanded bribe for correction of the name. A viglinace team headed by inspector, Jagdish Chand laid a trap and caught Mahender red- handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from the complainant at his office. The accused would be produced in the court on Sunday.
