In the thirty minute speech, Modi rolled out various efficient ways to promote agriculture and allied activities such as dairy, veterinary and fisheries. According to experts from varsities, each methodology complimented the concept of farming in our country.

“Each agricultural or veterinary sciences university of the country, must set up their own radio stations and students along with experts must hold radio talks for the farmers from the campus itself. This should be followed by preparing information banks of progressive farmers in various regions of the country. Both universities and the agricultural department of each state, must play a strong role in achieving this objective. Thirdly, thesis work of former students must be digitalised in order to help students from the upcoming batches,” said Modi.

GADVASU vice-chancellor, VK Taneja, also appreciated the methodologies suggested by Modi.

Director of agriculture, Punjab, MS Sandhu said, “ICAR is one such body that has shouldered the responsibility of research, education and extension in agriculture and other similar occupations. I feel concerned government departments and state universities must carefully take into consideration our Prime Minister’s suggestions. Infact, Punjab is leading in the country, as far as preparing information banks of progressive farmers is concerned, for the last couple of years and a lot is already being done, in this regard at every echelon.”
