The results of last week’s Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET), which were expected on Wednesday, have been delayed until the big volume of objections to the disputed questions are settled.

The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has formed three review committees; and university registrar Dr DS Sidhu couldn’t say how long the experts would take to submit reports.

A notice uploaded on the university website says 389 objections were filed on Monday, for review of at least 49 questions from the morning paper and 61 from the evening test, both of 200 questions each.

The observations went to paper setters and their replies were received in written. “Still, to avoid any mistake, three new committees will guide the university in deal with the students’ fears,” said Dr Sidhu. The first committee comprises professors of physics, chemistry, botany and zoology, the second includes teachers from a degree college, while the third has science teachers from the government schools on board.
