Police crack blind murder case after 25 days, arrest one

With arrest of one person, the city police claim to have busted a blind murder case of Jiwan Lal (44), a resident of Butta village whose dead body was found in an abandoned plot near Wadala Chowk in Nakodar road of city on April 30.

With arrest of one person, the city police claim to have busted a blind murder case of Jiwan Lal (44), a resident of Butta village whose dead body was found in an abandoned plot near Wadala Chowk in Nakodar road of city on April 30.

The accused has been identified as Jaswinder Pal (38), a resident of Sem village near Shahkot sub-division of the district.

SHO Model Town police station Nirmal Singh said that deceased had objected over interference of Jiwan Lal into his family and suspected illicit relations of his wife with accused.

Singh added that two days before the murder, both had exchanged arguments after which accused decided to eliminate him.

He said that on April 29 late night, the accused called Jiwan Lal to drink liquor in Boota Mandi and offered him more liquor but accused did not drink himself.

SHO also added that when deceased started became unconsciousness and he took him to nearby abandoned plot and attacked with bricks many times which led to deceased's death.

Nirmal Singh told that the technical investigation of mobile phone calls has helped police to crack the case as accused and deceased’s wife had talked many times on the phone.

The dead body of Jiwan was recovered with severe injury marks on the head was found naked in the plot when a woman nearby house noticed body and later informed police around 10.30 am on April 30.

The cops had recovered receipt of gas booking from one of pocket of his trouser found at another side in plot and called up his family members to identify the dead body.

His wife Manjeet Kaur and son Ajay rushed to spot and identified Lal.
